Latosha is a proud Wilmington, NC native. She loves working with older adults experiencing depression and anxiety and who have experienced trauma. In sessions, Latosha is grounded and calm. Her sense of loyalty and instinct to have her client’s backs can be felt the moment you step into her office.
Latosha is trained in Foundational Competencies in Older Adult Mental Health serving those ages 40 and above. She uses evidence-based treatment tailored to fit each client’s individual needs. Latosha pulls from therapeutic techniques rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Emotional Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFIT)
Latosha is passionate about working with older adults struggling with depression, especially later in life older adults who may be grappling with a loss of identity or profound sadness. Latosha believes in the transformative power of this stage of life and is committed to guiding her clients through a process of self-discovery, bolstering their self-esteem, and helping them overcome limiting beliefs to rediscover joy and purpose.
Latosha specializes in working with older adults who are experiencing anxiety, especially Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Latosha understands that persistent worry thoughts, stress, and overall sense of overwhelm can often be brought on by the pressures of managing finances, careers, relationships and more later in life. She is passionate about utilizing evidence-based practices to empower her clients to make positive life changes, fostering a sense of peace and control amidst the chaos of the modern world.
Latosha also specializes in working with older adults who have experienced traumatic events of all kinds. Trauma can appear in many forms, including sudden loss of a spouse or loved one, injury, and more. Through the application of EFIT techniques, Latosha helps her clients to manage and express their trauma-related emotions, improve their connections with others, and aid them in the journey to rebuild their lives.
Fun Fact: In another life Latosha was an interior decorator. She has been known to attend open houses just to check out the decor.
