Sandy was born and raised in New Jersey, but is right at home here in our quaint little beach town of Wilmington, NC these days. With 20 years of clinical experience, Sandy specializes in working with adults navigating overwhelming anxiety, depression brought on by caregiving and health challenges, and grief & loss. In sessions, she offers a steady, down to earth presence that helps clients feel at ease while working through life’s challenges with clarity and care.

Sandy’s treatment foundation is evidence-based and customized to fit each client’s individual needs, as she pulls from therapeutic techniques rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness‑based strategies.

Sandy is an expert in working with adults who feel stuck in constant anxiety, overthinking, and emotional overwhelm. You might feel on edge most days, mentally exhausted, and unable to fully relax. It can feel like your mind will not turn off and your body never quite settles. Sandy helps you understand what is driving these patterns and teaches practical ways to calm your system, feel more in control, and finally exhale again.

Sandy is passionate in her care with adults experiencing depression connected to caregiving and health related challenges. You may feel low on energy, unmotivated, or stuck, like it is hard to move forward or feel like yourself. As roles and responsibilities shift, it can leave you feeling disconnected from who you used to be. Whether you are supporting someone you love or learning to accept yourself, it can be difficult to hold onto a sense of self in the middle of it all. Sandy helps you understand what you are carrying and supports you in rebuilding energy, reconnecting with yourself, and finding a steady way forward.

Sandy also specializes in supporting adults navigating grief, loss, and anticipatory grief. You might feel waves of sadness, numbness, or disorientation, like the ground beneath you has shifted and nothing feels quite the same. Whether you are grieving someone you have lost or facing the reality of an upcoming loss, it can be hard to know how to carry it all. Sandy offers a steady, compassionate space where you can talk openly, make sense of what you are feeling, and begin to find your footing again, one step at a time.

Fun Fact: Sandy is a proud first generation American, raised by parents from South America, and recently adopted a Beagle named Bagel who keeps her laughing with his curious and playful personality.
