Stephanie Moore, LCSWA
Stephanie is a North Carolina native having grown up in Fayetteville, but has made Wilmington, NC her home over the last 10 years. She specializes in working with adolescents and adults, especially new mothers and veterans. In sessions, Stephanie is thoughtful and structured. Her steady and practical instincts put her clients at ease the moment they sit in her office.
Stephanie is certified in Motivational Interviewing as a Veteran Support Specialist. Her treatment foundation is evidence-based and customized to fit each client’s needs. Stephanie pulls from therapeutic techniques rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interview (MI).
Stephanie is skilled in helping adolescents and adults who are overwhelmed by complicated or unhealthy relationships. You might be navigating family tension, saying yes too often, or feeling anxious because you have taken on more than you can hold. In individual therapy, Stephanie provides a grounded space to clarify what you need, understand the roots of your anxiety or sadness, and build the boundary skills that help you show up confidently in your relationships.
Stephanie specializes in working with distressed adolescents and adults who have experienced loved ones struggling with substance use or mental health challenges. Many people in these positions feel constantly alert or uncertain about how to help, and it is common to feel drained by the responsibility of holding so much for someone else. With Stephanie, you will focus on you for a change. In doing so, she will guide you in understanding how these experiences have shaped your brain’s anxious tendencies and make sense of the stress and trauma you have witnessed and silently carried.
A mother of twins herself, Stephanie is passionate in serving new mothers– especially in navigating post-partum anxieties and depression. Many of her clients feel anxious, disconnected, or unsure of how to care for their own needs while caring for their baby. Stephanie provides a space where you can speak openly about what you are carrying and rebuild routines and communities that help you feel steady again. Her approach blends compassion with practical tools and thoughtful self care that supports both you and your growing family.
Fun Fact: Stephanie was a probation officer for 12 years!
