Maddie White, LPA
Madeline “Maddie” is an Arkansas native and well-traveled soul who relocated to Wilmington, NC for school and has since found a place she is happy to call home. She specializes in working with adolescents and adults managing anxiety, depression, and ADHD. In sessions, Maddie is warm, thoughtful, and creative.
Maddie’s treatment foundation is evidence-based and customized to fit each client’s individual needs. Maddie pulls from therapeutic techniques rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Maddie specializes in working with adolescents and adults living with anxiety, especially those weighed down by overthinking and the pressure to get everything right. Many of her clients feel stuck in “worst case scenario” thinking or second guessing themselves. Maddie helps clients understand what fuels their anxiety, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build coping skills so anxiety no longer runs the show so life can finally feel more manageable.
Passionate in her care for teens and adults, Maddie understands the real struggles of depression. Many of her clients feel numb, disconnected, or exhausted by the effort it takes just to get through the day, often wondering why things that once mattered no longer bring relief or joy. Maddie helps clients break out of depressive cycles, re-engage with meaningful parts of life, and rebuild motivation so life feels more connected, hopeful, and possible again.
Maddie is skilled in working with adults living with ADHD. Many of her clients feel overwhelmed and frustrated by feeling out of sync with their own brains everywhere they go. Maddie helps clients build on the skills they already have to strengthen practical strategies for real life challenges and shift away from shame and self doubt. Her work supports clients in creating systems and goals that actually work for them so they can show up more fully as who they want to be.
Fun Fact: Maddie loves all things crafty and has a special place in her heart for animals, especially her two pet chinchillas, two cats, and dog!
