Lori Brinkley, LCSW

Lori Brinkley’s approach to therapy is direct, yet warm and supportive. She doesn't sugar coat anything but believes you can only push as much as you support. She also has a killer sense of humor that’s infused into her sessions. Lori is an LCSW and  has over 17 years of experience. She feels lucky to love her work. 

Lori loves working with moms! She knows after the birth of a child comes a chaotic, stressful, yet beautiful time. She works with mothers and fathers adjusting to new roles, postpartum adjustment, postpartum stress, postpartum depression, all the way to the “tween/teenage adjustment”. She loves helping parents learn to navigate their new roles. She also, is passionate about empowering women and helping them find their voice following trauma, abuse, divorce, separation, adjusting to college, and pregnancy.

Lori also specializes in helping disconnected couples improve their communication and intimacy.  She knows that good communication is the key to a healthy relationship and helps couples navigate various stages of their relationship. She is working toward her  Ph.D. in Sexology and specializes in, tactfully and professionally, helping individuals and couples reshape biases that prevent them from getting the sex and connection they want. 

Mindfulness is infused in Lori’s practice. She believes in the mind-body connection and creating joy are essential to building happy healthy life. She knows mindfulness is learned and cultivated and enjoys helping her clients develop new ways of seeing the world.

Fun Fact: Lori has competed a tough mudder! She says it was a life changing course and she's dying to do it again.

UNDERGRADUATE, Lori received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

GRADUATE, Lori  received her Masters in Social Work from East Carolina University and is working toward her PhD in Clinical Sexology from Mamonaides University.
