Meet our Therapist Karin Kassab
Feeling stuck and miserable? It’s time to make a change. Karin Kassab, a clinical psychologist and co-owner of Clarity Counseling Center, is not the therapist who sits quietly and nods. Karin is energetic, ambitious, and her approach research-based and participatory. Her direct approach is coupled with her sense of humor and belief that therapy should be fun and valuable.
Her training, experience, and private practice include working with individuals to facilitate the learning of new coping skills that, eventually, lead to new ways of living and thinking, resulting in a more satisfying, productive, and peaceful life. Karin has a genuine passion for ‘helping people help themselves, and she works in a very collaborative and participatory manner. You’ll get feedback and valuable evidence-based skills in each session. She is dedicated to staying current and providing her clients with superior research-based care.

Karin Kassab is an advanced generalist and loves working with millennials and college students (especially UNCW and CFCC students) struggling with attachment issues, codependency, breakups, relationship issues, adulting, anxiety, and depression. Karin has a genuine passion for helping individuals find their path. She specializes in working with adolescents who are stressed, gifted/overachievers, behaviorally disruptive, angry teens, self-harmers, and have low self-esteem.
Mrs. Kassab is passionate about helping professionals. Busy business people, boss ladies, anxious entrepreneurs, and other stressed and pressured high-profile clients. Having grow up among a family of self starters, coupled by opening her own successful business, gives Karin unique insight into the stressors and phases of business and entrepreneurship growth and development. She also loves to work with therapists, counselors, P.A.'s, nurses, M.D.'s, and other healthcare professionals. We call her the therapist FOR therapists. She has a keen awareness of the unique issues and stressors that often accompany healthcare professionals. She also understands the importance of professionalism and extreme confidentiality when working with medical professionals. She believes that individuals in the healthcare industry are often overworked, overstressed, and are taught to self-deny.
She is specialized training in the treatment of eating disorders (anorexia, ARFID, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder). She has a great passion for working with and educations individuals with eating disorders and their loved ones. She helps individuals with eating issues live more joyful and peaceful lives. She knows that successful treatment of an eating disorder requires care, compassion, and a lot of support. Consistent with her therapeutic approach, she treats eating disorders with (CBT) strategies aimed at improving client quality of life through enhanced cognitive and emotional awareness and regulation. In the treatment of this population, Karin encourages a team approach to include clients, family members, psychiatrists, nutritionists, and primary care physicians working in collaboration to support clients during treatment. UNDERGRADUATE, Karin received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and minor in Education from UNC Chapel Hill, the University of Salvador, Brazil, and Griffith University, Australia.
GRADUATE, Karin received her Masters in Clinical Psychology, with a substance abuse treatment concentration, from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
