Meet our Therapist Jeanne Farabaugh
Jeanne Farabaugh, LPC has recently moved to NC and has a true passion for helping couples. In sessions, Jeanne is compassionate, easy with a laugh, and holds her clients accountable. Jeanne is well versed in couples therapy treatment modalities, she pulls from the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, and PAIRS. Many therapists feel overwhelmed by couples work, Jeanne runs toward it. She believes that couples therapists should be well trained. It’s ones if the rare specialties where an untrained therapist can, unintentionally, do more harm than good.
“I help couples heal the hurt.” -Jeanne Farabaugh
Jeanne specializes in working with all couples, especially couples with communication issues and disconnected couples. Whether it’s a children, work, or the hustle and bustle of life that’s gotten in the way, she helps couples when the romance is gone. When communication is reduced to roommate style interactions. She wishes to help disconnected couples find hope again and reignite what they thought was lost forever.
Jeanne specializes in working with couples who are struggling with different parenting styles or co-parenting difficulties. She knows that as you go through your childrearing journey, you may have different approaches to parenting, which can become a source of tension in your relationship. Many people may not realize that their parenting style is often an unconscious reaction to their own upbringing. She helps couples work through this by ‘doing an investigation of your own life’ and talking though each partners parenting experiences. She helps coupes come together and create a custom parenting style that works for them.
Fun Fact: Jeanne is a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loves outdoor summer live music/concerts.
