She began her work with children in an educational setting, teaching elementary education. Through her experience she found that children seemed to gravitate toward teachers for support and counseling services. So, in 2009, Becky decided to go back to school to earn her master’s in counseling and become credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor. Becky is unique in that she understands the struggles of parenting and respects the importance of the therapist/parent/child relationship.

If a child is having behavioral difficulties, like separation anxiety or ADHD, that are disruptive in school or at home, it might be time to consider play therapy. Also, if a family is experiencing a divorce, death, serious illness, or other stressful situations, a play therapist can help the child to process through some of their big feelings. Play therapy is also appropriate for a child who has witnessed or experienced a traumatic event. Click Here to learn more about play therapy.
