Sharon Weeks, LCMHCA

Sharon was born and raised in Rocky Mount, NC and has called our beach town of Wilmington, NC home since 2021. Sharon specializes in working with couples who want to strengthen their relationships and with individuals navigating depression and anxiety. In sessions, Sharon is curious, attentive, and down to earth.

Sharon has completed Gottman Method Couples Therapy training, based on over forty years of research, and is level I certified. Her treatment foundation is evidence-based and customized to fit each client’s individual needs. Sharon pulls from therapeutic techniques rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),  Adlerian Therapy, and Motivational Therapy (MI).

Sharon is passionate in her care with couples who feel emotionally distant from one another or more like roommates than partners. In therapy, she helps couples slow down, understand the patterns keeping them stuck, and reconnect to themselves and one another. Her approach is warm, structured, and focused on rebuilding emotional safety so couples can feel seen, heard, and close again. Sharon helps couples move from frustration and distance to feeling hopeful, connected, and back on the same team.

Sharon specializes in working with adolescents and adults navigating depression. Life feels heavier, even small tasks can feel overwhelming, and it’s easy to feel disconnected from yourself and what once mattered. In therapy, Sharon offers a warm, supportive space to gently explore what’s beneath the depression while helping individuals rebuild meaning, self-compassion, and hope. Her goal is to help people move through the heaviness, reconnect with their values, and feel more engaged in their lives again.

Sharon is skilled in her care with teens and adults struggling with social anxiety– especially those who fear judgment, rejection, or saying the wrong thing. Sharon helps clients understand the patterns fueling their social worries and build confidence in connecting with others. Her approach is compassionate and gradual, supporting clients in feeling more at ease, forming meaningful relationships, and experiencing a stronger sense of belonging.

Fun Fact: Sharon is also a high school science teacher and loves learning about nutrition, bringing curiosity about the mind and body into her approach to overall wellness.
