Melissa is a well traveled soul, yet she has been happy to call our quaint little beachtown of Wilmington, NC her home since 2021. She specializes in working with adolescents and adults recovering from trauma, living with ADHD, and managing chronic worry from people pleasing. In sessions Melissa is wonderfully warm, bubbly, and level headed.
Melissa’s treatment foundation is evidence-based and gender affirming to fit each client’s individual needs. Melissa pulls from therapeutic techniques rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-focused therapy (SFT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Melissa is passionate in her trauma recovery work with adolescents and adults. Many of her clients come in feeling lonely, overwhelmed, or stuck in hurtful relationship patterns they cannot make sense of. She helps clients build confidence in their voice, set healthier limits, and create relationships that feel more balanced and peaceful. With Melissa, you will explore the roots of your anxiety and the beliefs that push you to overextend yourself. Through practical tools and approachable interventions, you will leave sessions excited to take what you are learning into your everyday life.
Fun Fact: Melissa has a Boykin Spaniel named Ollie, and she is a Halloween Fanatic that loves all things spooky.
