Jackie Stonebrook, LCMHC

Jaclyn “Jackie”, originally a Buffalo, NY native (Go Bills!), has joined us here in Wilmington, NC to call our shared beach town home! Jackie specializes in working with adults with depression, trauma, and relational conflict and boundary setting. In sessions, Jackie is down to earth and practical.

Jackie has received certifications and specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Progressive Counting, Written Exposure Therapy, and Solution focused- trauma informed care. In addition to these modalities, Jackie is skilled in suicide specific treatments including Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention (BCBT-SP) and Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS). Jackie’s therapeutic foundation pulls from Positive Psychology, Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to truly customize your care to fit your individual needs.

Jackie specializes in supporting adults who have experienced lifelong, complex trauma, especially veterans. She understands how these experiences can leave you on guard, weighed down by worry, and unsure if life can feel different. In a safe, supportive space, Jackie helps you move at your own pace, choose the path that feels right, and regain a sense of control using evidence-based trauma therapies to guide you toward peace, connection, and hope.

She is also passionate about helping individuals facing chronic or recurring depression. She understands how sadness, low motivation, and disconnection can make each day feel heavier. Jackie will guide you in building practical coping skills, challenging unhelpful patterns, and exploring what truly matters so you can create a life that feels balanced, meaningful, and worth waking up to.

Jackie has expertise in helping adults navigate the impact of difficult or unhealthy relationships– whether with a parent, friend, partner, or coworker. You might feel like you give more than you get, struggle to set boundaries, or have lost sight of who you are. In one-on-one sessions, Jackie will help you define what healthy relationships look like, build skills to communicate clearly, set boundaries with confidence, and strengthen your sense of self so you can approach connections with clarity and confidence outside of your individual therapy space.

Fun Fact: Jackie is a 4th Dan Master Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
