Molly Kinnisten, LCMHCA

Molly is an Outer Banks native who has proudly called Wilmington, NC home over the last 11 years. She works with adults navigating anxiety, dating, and complicated emotions that come with breakups and relationship transitions. In session, Molly is grounded, thoughtful, and direct.

Molly’s treatment foundation is evidence-based and customized to fit each client’s individual needs, as she pulls from therapeutic techniques rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Molly is passionate about working with individuals who are navigating relationships and dating. As our in-house guru of “couples therapy for one,” she supports individuals who are processing the beginnings, complexities, and maintenance of romantic relationships. Molly helps people rebuild self-worth, gain clarity, and move forward with confidence by guiding them to rediscover who they are, both within and beyond their relationships, so they can take empowered steps toward a more hopeful and grounded future in love.

Skilled in navigating relational breakups, Molly helps adults process the grief and confusion that follow the ending of a significant relationship. These losses can shake your sense of identity, disrupt future plans, and leave you feeling unmoored. With compassion and clarity, Molly guides adults through the emotional aftermath, making space for sadness, anger, and longing, while supporting them in reconnecting with themselves and rebuilding a grounded, meaningful life.

Molly also specializes in working with individuals navigating all forms of anxiety. Whether it’s racing thoughts, overthinking, or feeling like you’re “too much” and “not enough” all at once, she helps individuals quiet limiting beliefs and build practical skills to calm the inner critic. With warmth and clarity, Molly creates space to slow down, explore your inner world, and respond to stress with greater confidence, self-trust, and peace.

In addition to serving clients, Molly also leads as Clarity’s Director of Operations and Integration. With years of experience guiding the practice from behind the scenes, she ensures that the organization runs smoothly and efficiently at every level. Molly is passionate about cultivating systems that support both client care and clinician success, and she plays a key role in shaping a workplace culture that is values-driven, connected, and thoughtfully aligned.

Fun Fact: When she’s not traveling the world, you find Molly getting crafty. In fact, she even painted the murals you’ll find around the Clarity office!
